“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes...you're Doing Something.” - Neil Gaiman

I add a small portion of pork to the mound that is already balled up in my palm. It's past dusk and I have fifty more meatballs to roll up. I'm listening to K-pop on a phone App. I don't care for K-pop but it reminds me of my Mother and Father. The next time I get up, I'll find an Italian radio station to listen to. I believe in themes. I'm wearing the colors of the Italian flag while preparing tomorrow's dishes. It's only fitting that I listen to Italian music. Opera may put me to sleep or it may uplift my spirits. Tomorrow I'll cook, tonight it's about food preparation. I only have so much counter space. I'm used to cooking in installments. You have to be gentle with meatballs. Light hands to sculpt meat into a ball shape form. Meat encased with breadcrumbs and eggs smothered with love. Love makes a dish. A clean and sanitary kitchen helps too, but love is what makes the food sing. I meditated before starting to prepare this dish. A clean mind, a present mind. No outside troubles to offset the balance. I blessed the kitchen and all of it's cooking tools. If I'm feeling like a shaman or a priestess I could say I enchanted this kitchen. Maybe this would scare the ants off the counters? Is their a Catholic saint of cooking? I pray to that person.
All this for a simple pasta meal. Well, it is a holiday meal. I wish I had a double oven and two dishwashers in this kitchen. I wouldn't mind radiant floor heating, either.

I'm lying down in a hotel bedroom wearing my motorcycle thermal long johns. I freeze up in hotel bedrooms so I usually pack something warm to wear. I don't like being cold. The clock reads 10 PM. I am in Australia extinguishing the ghosts of the year before. On the news they always show Australia welcoming the New Year. If the land that born Jackman can handle the time change so can the rest of the world. I doubt I'll stay up any much longer. I'm looking forward to drinking coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon.
I brought my dog with me. My faithful friend. I found a dog day care to cater to him as I carry on with my day. Officially I am here on business but before the weekend ends I'll be on a walkabout. I found a company that would allow me to bring my dog along. Hopefully, we both don't die out in the wilderness. If one of us is to survive please God let it be my dog.
I like how quiet it is here in this room. I opened up the drapes. I may sleep through the twelve o'clock hour but I will be able to greet the sunrise in the morning.
